JAKARTA, KOMPAS — The implementation of the emergency public activity restrictions (PPKM Darurat) as of Saturday (3/7/2021) at 00:01 a.m. is supported by road blocks at intercity and interprovincial entrances, both by land, sea and air. The government ensures the enforcement of strict sanctions to any violators, including the regional heads.
On Friday (2/7), Home Minister Tito Karnavian issued Home Affairs Instruction No. 15/2021 regarding PPKM Darurat in Java and Bali. The instruction emphasizes the enforcement of sanctions for regional heads, business actors, and anyone who do not impose restrictions.
In point 10, it is stipulated that governors, regents and mayors who do not follow the instructions will be subject to administrative sanctions of written warnings twice in a row up to temporary dismissal. Sanctions are regulated in Article 68 Paragraph (1) and Paragraph (2) of Law No. 23/2014 concerning Regional Administration.

The daily addition of new cases in Bali increase to above 300 cases, and on Friday it reached 343 cases, bringing the total number of Covid-19 in Bali to 50,871. Public activity restrictions are demanded in nine regencies/cities, including field closures and restrictions on worship activities.
In East Java, in compliance with the PPKM Darurat, areas such as Surabaya, Lamongan, Gresik, Sidoarjo, Mojokerto, Madiun, Tulungagung, Kediri, Blitar, Malang and Batu, see schools, houses of worship and arts and culture were temporarily closed.
