The elected president of the 2024 presidential election, Prabowo Subianto, delivered his speech during the opening of the National Coordination Meeting of the National Mandate Party (PAN) at JS Luwansa Hotel, Kuningan, Jakarta, on Thursday (9/5/2024). The presence of Prabowo Subianto was welcomed by PAN cadre representatives from all over Indonesia who attended the event.

In the opening ceremony, the elected President for 2024-2029, Prabowo Subianto, was present and gave his political speech. One of which was about Prabowo's confidence in the big power that always supports him from behind, such as the Gerindra Party and PAN. In addition, he stated,

The Chairman of the National Mandate Party, Zulkifli Hasan, emphasized in the opening of the National Coordination Meeting that his party will always be in line with the Gerindra Party in facing the simultaneous regional head elections in 2024.

Not only working together to support candidates in several regions, PAN also prepares cadres as candidates for regional heads or deputy regional heads to be proposed together in the upcoming local elections.

If we look back, at the time of Zulkifli's inauguration as Minister of Trade on June 14 2022 at the State Palace, Jakarta, many said Zulkifli's presence was the official momentum for PAN joining the government coalition even though PAN had already stated its willingness to join the coalition since the 2021 National Working Meeting. This means that with the entry of PAN, the government is currently supported by seven of the nine political parties that have seats in parliament, with a total proportion of seats of 82 percent compared to 18 percent for the opposition. The presence of Zulkifli also adds to the number of political party chairpersons in the cabinet. He becomes the fourth chairperson after the Chairperson of the Gerindra Party, Prabowo Subianto, who serves as Defense Minister, Chairperson of the Golkar Party, Airlangga Hartarto, as Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, and the Chairperson of the United Development Party (PPP), Suharso Monoarfa, who occupies the position of Minister of National Development Planning/National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas). The cabinet also includes the Secretary General of the Nasdem Party, Johnny G Plate, as Minister of Communication and Informatics.

President Jokowi is said to want to prepare an alternative 'vehicle' for the presidential candidates he supports in 2024. If the 'vehicle' is not needed because the candidate has been supported by a political party that already has a presidential candidate ticket, they are allowed to support another candidate.

In addition, the emergence of PAN completes the formation of the United Indonesian Coalition (KIB), a coalition formed by the Golkar Party, PAN, and PPP to face the 2024 Elections. Since it was declared earlier in June, KIB has been speculated as an alternative coalition formed to support the presidential candidate endorsed by President Jokowi. The gathering of all KIB members in the cabinet further indicates President Jokowi's role behind them.

A Kompas source in KIB circles confirmed this prediction. President Jokowi is said to want to prepare an alternative "vehicle" for the presidential candidate he is supporting in 2024.
