Volunteers Supporting Gibran Invite the Public to Respect the Constitutional Court's Decision

The volunteer group supporting Gibran Rakabuming Raka, Bolone Mase, invites the public to respect the Constitutional Court's decision.

Police officers are providing security at the Constitutional Court Building in Jakarta ahead of the reading of the verdict concerning the dispute over the results of the 2024 Presidential Election, on Monday (22/4/2024).

SURAKARTA, KOMPAS — The Constitutional Court rejected the petition to dispute the results of the 2024 Presidential Election submitted by the pair Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar and Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD. The volunteer group Bolone Mase, which is a supporter of Gibran Rakabuming Raka, invites the public to respect the decision.

"Whatever decision the Constitutional Court makes today, let us all respect that decision," said Bolone Mase Volunteer Coordinator, Kuat Hermawan Santoso, when contacted on Monday afternoon (22/4/2024).

Bolone Mase Volunteers is a group supporting Gibran Rakabuming Raka. In the 2024 Election, Gibran is the vice presidential candidate who is accompanying Prabowo Subianto as the presidential candidate.

Based on the vote tally conducted by the General Election Commission (KPU), the Prabowo-Gibran pair won the 2024 presidential election with 58.6 percent of the vote. Two other pairs then filed a lawsuit to the Constitutional Court (MK), but the lawsuit was rejected by the MK.

Kuat stated that he had not studied in detail the MK decision regarding the 2024 presidential election. Therefore, Bolone Mase Volunteers also had no plans to hold a special event related to the decision. "There are still many friends who are halalbihalal," he said.

As reported by Kompas.id, the Constitutional Court rejected all requests regarding the dispute over the results of the 2024 presidential election. However, three constitutional judges gave different opinions or dissenting opinions, namely Saldi Isra, Arief Hidayat, and Enny Nurbaningsih.

The Constitutional Court has held a hearing for the 2024 presidential election dispute from March 27 to April 5. The hearing began with a reading of the petition from the Anies-Muhaimin and Ganjar-Mahfud pairs, and ended with listening to testimonies from four ministers of the Indonesia Maju Cabinet regarding social assistance.

The Head of the Prabowo-Gibran Legal Team, Yusril Ihza Mahendra, stated that the Prabowo-Gibran pair has officially become the winner of the 2024 presidential election after the Constitutional Court rejected all requests from the Anies-Muhaimin and Ganjar-Mahfud pairs. Prabowo and Gibran are now officially the elected president and vice president who will be inaugurated in October.

"Since the Constitutional Court's decision, Prabowo and Gibran have officially become the elected president and vice president. This is not only for their supporters, but for all Indonesian people," said Yusril.

Meanwhile, Ganjar Pranowo and Mahfud MD expressed respect for the MK's decision to reject all of their requests. Ganjar also congratulated the Prabowo-Gibran pair on their duty.

"I appreciate the panel of judges. "The first is to accept this process from the start, then try it, until then it is decided and there is a dissenting opinion," said Ganjar.

Since the Constitutional Court's decision, Prabowo and Gibran have officially become elected president and vice president.

As for Anies Baswedan, he stated that he will make a statement to respond to the decision of the Constitutional Court. However, he requested time to prepare a few things first.

"We have just listened to the decision from the Constitutional Court. So, this afternoon we will provide a statement regarding the decision. Please give us time to prepare some points that will become our response to the decision," said Anies after the hearing at the Constitutional Court building.
