Israel has carried out a series of aggression against Palestinians in the West Bank, Gaza Strip and East Jerusalem in the past week. The aggression, which further epitomizes the brutality of Israeli colonialism and imperialism, is an affront to international law and the United Nations Security Council Resolution.
The Israeli army fired tear gas at the Faisal Al-Husseini international stadium in the West Bank, Palestine, on 31 March, during the Yasser Arafat Cup final match between Al Mukaber and Balata FC. Players and spectators, including women and children, became victims. Mohammed Rashid, a former Persib Bandung squad member who plays for Al Mukaber, was also among the victims. Israeli police stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque and attacked the praying congregants on 4 April. The following day, Israeli warplanes bombed the Gaza Strip and the Nuseirat refugee camp.
These acts of aggression are what Mordechai Kedar, a former Israeli military officer and expert on Semitic culture, referred to as Israel’s tactical maneuvers to maintain its existence. He says Israel's strategy to maintain its existence and goal as a state is to fortify itself and consistently foster conflicts, instead of complying with UN Security Council Resolution No. 242/1967. This resolution administered a two-state solution that sought to recognize Palestine as an independent and sovereign state in coexistence with Israel.
Kedar emphasizes that Israel’s goal has been to seize Zion, the messianic kingdom centered in Jerusalem, without ceding it even an inch. It has rejected the UN Security Council’s two-state solution, which would divide Jerusalem into Israeli West Jerusalem and Palestinian East Jerusalem.

Regarding the existence of Israel as a state, the Zionists point to three claims. First, it is a claim of rights bestowed by God. Second, the claim is based on the League of Nations’ framework in 1920 regarding the Israeli entity with its designated geographical boundaries. Third, the claim is based on the UN resolution on 14 May, 1948, which recognized the existence of Israel as an independent and sovereign state.
Only the third claim is recognized by the UN in line with international law.
As a UN member, Israel is obliged to comply with binding international law and the UN Security Council resolution.

Israel continues to undermine the existence of Palestine in various ways, including expanding its illegal occupation of the Palestinian territories and intervening in Palestinian movement to seek UN’s official recognition of it being an independent and sovereign state.
Israel's lobbies against Palestine are done across all global community interactions, ranging from sports activities to inter-country parliamentary forums.
United States’ Donald Trump-mediated Abraham Accords aimed to create a single state of Israel, consisting of two nations (Israeli and Palestine), with Jerusalem as the capital city. This strategy was drummed up by Zionist supporters in a number of countries and organizations with the propaganda that the Palestinians were a minority within the state of Israel. The ultimate goal of the Abraham Accords was to create eternal peace between Palestinian and the Israeli people in one state of Israel. Trump failed to realize his ambition. The current US government has reaffirmed its support for the two-state solution.
Why has Israel been so confident in the face of international pressure? There are two reasons. First, Israel is assured of the support of Western countries despite the fact that UN Security Council resolution No. 242/1967 has never been revoked. Second, Israel has succeeded in its project to become a nuclear state.
Hope once arose when Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid addressed the UN Security Council on 28 September, 2022. For the first time, Israel stated that a two-state solution deserved to give way to peace and security for the Israeli people. Following the development in the lead-up to the Israeli elections last year, I thought Lapid would win and be re-elected as prime minister. Suppose he won the election, being the proponent of the two-state solution, he should feel obliged to bring his words into action. In fact, he lost. The current Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has made it clear what the true Zionist Israel is, and Israel's Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich has pointed out that there is no such a Palestinian state.
Will Palestine finally become independent and sovereign?
Indonesia must reject all forms of colonialism in the world as mandated in the 1945 Constitution, including Israel's occupation of Palestine. I am writing this article out of my obligations to impart the message of the 1945 Constitution, which had begun in effect before Israel was established as a state in 1948. De-jure, Indonesia has never recognized Israel as a state.
Consistently calling for an end to Israeli occupation, which reflects the practices of Zionism, Indonesia does not necessarily hate the Israeli people. The official historical book of the Sultanate of Banten, titled Sajarah Banten (1662), contains information that Sultan Maulana Hasanuddin’s grandfather was a Yamani and his grandmother an Israeli. According to Talmudic law, an Israeli progeny is inherited through the line of the mother’s ancestral blood. It would be paradoxical to hate myself.
Will Palestine finally become independent and sovereign? Those who say “it won’t” are not familiar with past history. Tens of thousands of years of civilization actually reveals the fact that humans have no power in the face of natural law and God's will.
