The Indonesian people will definitely be prouder to watch their national team play in the World Cup through the qualifying route, not because they gained a slot as the host country.

FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association) has officially withdrawn the 2023 U-20 World Cup from Indonesia. "Due to the current circumstances" is the only reason it gave on its decision to revoke Indonesia's hosting rights to this year’s U-20 World Cup, which was originally granted at the FIFA Council Meeting on 24 Nov. 2019 in Shanghai, China.

At that time, FIFA President Gianni Infantino announced that Indonesia had been chosen to host the tournament, beating out Brazil and Peru, which had also applied to host the 2021 U-20 World Cup. However, the 2021 U-20 World Cup was postponed until 2023 due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
