The cancellation of the Indonesian haj pilgrimage this year is stipulated in Religious Affairs Ministerial Decree No. 660/2021 concerning cancellation of haj pilgrims’ departure for 2021.
Well organized trips were not the norm during ancient times. Pilgrims had to go through a long struggle, especially for those who had to use a sailboat to reach the port in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Only 1,000 people are taking part in the five-day hajj pilgrimage to the holy city of Mecca, Saudi Arabia, due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
