Welcoming Cycling de West Java 2024, PLN and Regional Government Prepare Facilities

PLN and the regional government have prepared various facilities to make the 2024 Cycling de West Java event a success.

Four members of the Nusantara Cycling Team were seen training in the Pogalan area of Yogyakarta on Wednesday (22/5/2024). Nusantara Cycling Team sent five of its members to participate in the Cycling de Jabar event which was held on May 25, 2024, in West Java. The Cycling de Jabar route covers a distance of 213 kilometers from Cirebon to Pangandaran.

BANDUNG, KOMPAS — PLN and the local government are preparing facilities and officers to support the implementation of the national bicycle racing competition, Cycling de Jabar on Saturday ( 5/25/2024) tomorrow. This event was held by the West Java Provincial Government and the daily Kompas passed through two cities and five districts.

The opening of the 2024 Jabar Cycling (CdJ) on Saturday morning started from Cirebon City. The event, involving hundreds of cyclists, ended in Pangandaran Regency.

Meanwhile, the CdJ 2024 route spans 213 kilometers. The route passes through several regions in West Java, namely the city of Cirebon, Cirebon district, Majalengka district, Kuningan district, Ciamis district, Banjar city, and Pangandaran district.

PLN Customer Service Unit Manager in Pangandaran, Niko Sugara, said on Friday (May 24, 2024) that the route for cyclists in the PLN Tasikmalaya work area. The participants of the race will pass through PLN ULP Ciamis, PLN ULP Banjar Kota, and ULP Pangandaran.

PLN ULP PANGANDARAN

PLN Pangandaran Customer Service Unit Manager, Niko Sugara, showed the public electric vehicle battery exchange station (SPBKLU) facility located at the Green Canyon tourist attraction in West Java, which is scheduled to start operating in early 2024. This facility is to support electric boats in Green Canyon.

He also stated that PLN has prepared technical standby personnel. Additionally, PLN has also prepared facilities for the public electric charging system (SPLU), public electric vehicle charging system (SPKLU), rest areas, and toilets.

From preliminary data, the number of participants who have registered for CdJ 2024 has reached 186 people. The participants come from several provinces including Jakarta, West Java, Central Java, Yogyakarta, East Java, Aceh, North Sumatra, West Sumatra, East Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, Southeast Sulawesi, and Bali.

In this event there are three classes of participants, namely elite for professional athletes, Master A for participants aged 36-44 years, and Master B 46-55 years. Cycling de Jabar 2024 also comes with three podium race categories in the Jabar Challenge program, namely the King Of Mountain category, Queen Of Mountain (Climb Queen), Intermediate Sprint, and Stage.

"In supporting tourism destinations in Pangandaran, we have also prepared two wastewater treatment facilities at the PLN ULP Pangandaran office and The Allure Villas hotel," said Niko.

In Green Canyon, there are already boats that use electric power. This program is part of PLN's commitment to support the government in achieving net-zero emissions by 2060.

He added that PLN ULP Pangandaran has also launched the first green energy-based ecotourism program in Indonesia. The program has been implemented in the tourist destination of Green Canyon Pangandaran.

Preparation for the prestigious bicycle race, CdJ 2025, in West Java, has been completed on Saturday. The local government is ready to welcome the cyclists who will pass through a 213-kilometer route from the Cirebon City Hall to Pangandaran.

These preparations, among other things, were visible at the starting place at Cirebon City Hall, Friday (24/5/2024). Pennants and banners, for example, have been standing on Jalan Siliwangi, which is the city center. Inside the City Hall area, a number of cyclists are starting to take their race packs to take part in this event at dawn tomorrow.

A mini stage for Cycling de Jabar was installed at the Cirebon City Hall in West Java on Friday (24/5/2024). Cycling de Jabar, a prestigious cycling race event in West Java, will be held on Saturday (25/4/2024) from Cirebon to Pangandaran.

Acting Mayor of Cirebon, Agus Mulyadi, welcomes the selection of Cirebon City Hall as the starting point for Cycling de Jabar. "We fully support this activity. In fact, tonight, we are preparing a reception for several cyclists. We hope this event can elevate Cirebon," he said.

Hadi Kusmarani, a junior expert public relations officer at Diskominfo Jabar, added that Cycling de Jabar is expected to showcase the potential of the Jabar region, from tourism to development that has been carried out. In the city of Cirebon, for example, the provincial government has built the Kejaksan Square.

In Kuningan regency, the West Java provincial government is revitalizing the Darma Reservoir. "Cycling de Jabar demonstrates that development is being sought equally, not only in big cities such as Bandung but also in northern and southern West Java," said Hadi.
