Sting, Proud of Son

The first to fifth children had careers in music, acting or filmmaking, but the youngest became a police officer.

Legendary English musician, Sting, collaborated with composer and trumpet player Chris Botti on stage at the Java Jazz Festival in Jakarta on Saturday (5/3/2016). Sting performed his songs, including "Fields of Gold" accompanied by Chris Botti's trumpet melody.

Sting (72), former vocalist of the band The Police, is very proud of his six children who are independent and do not depend on their father's trust fund. Sting's six children were born from two marriages.

Marriage with actress Frances Tomelty from 1976-1984 gave birth to Joe Sumner (47) and Fuschia Sumner (42). Meanwhile, the marriage with Trudie Styler in August 1992 produced four children. They are Mickey Sumner (40), Jake Sumner (38), Eliot Sumner (33), and Giacomo Sumner (28).

The first to fifth child pursued careers in music, acting, or filmmaking, but the youngest Giacomo chose to become a police officer starting from May 2024. Even though, at the age of 11, he had already acted in several films.

However, it was the happiest accident of my life because they are such amazing human beings.

According to Mail Online, Giacomo recently wrote on his social media: “Becoming a police officer has been my dream since I was 13 years old.” Sting reportedly attended his son's passing-out parade after becoming an officer at the Met Academy in Hendon, North London.

The lead vocalist and bass player Sting satisfy the longing of their fans in a concert titled "Back to Bass Tour" at Mata Elang International Stadium Ancol, Jakarta on Saturday (December 15th).

Responding to his children's decision to choose the arts and law enforcement as their path in life, Sting said: ”All of my children rarely ask me for anything, (that) I really respect and appreciate. However, as a parent, if they were in trouble, he would obviously help, but he never really had to do that. "They have a work ethic that makes them want to be successful themselves," added Sting to The Sun

People magazine on May 20 2024 re-wrote the contents of an interview with Sting in 2020. On that occasion, the ever-slim singer stated that, although he never actually intended to become a father, in fact he became a father accidentally six times. "However, it was the happiest accident in my life because they are extraordinary human beings," said Sting, whose full name is Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner.

He recounted how his children do not sit and wait for a piece of paper containing notification of the amount of funds given by their father, and Sting does not want to rob them of their adventure in life to earn a living on their own. "This is an extraordinary and difficult thing to do. So, I haven't promised anything to them. They are too independent," says Sting. (DAILY MAIL)
