The discovery of a woman's body in a cupboard at a boarding house in Cirebon shocked residents. The RT head revealed another fact.

CIREBON, KOMPAS — The case of the discovery of a woman's body in a cupboard in one of the boarding rooms in Kedawung Village, Kedawung District, Cirebon Regency, West Java, shocked residents. The head of the local neighborhood association also revealed other facts about the murder case.

The body of a woman named Anita (21) was first discovered by the victim's colleagues on Thursday (9/5/2024) afternoon. There were wounds on the face and neck of the victim who came from Dadap Village, Juntinyuat District, Indramayu Regency, West Java. In the evening, the police arrested Casnadi (30), who was the perpetrator of Anita's murder.

The head of Neighborhood Association (RT) 002 RW 002 Pulomas Block, Kedawung Village, Syafii, said that the discovery of a body in the rented room shocked the local residents. "This is the first time such an incident (murder) has happened here. I took on this position only last year," he said on Saturday (11/05/2024).

Syafii admitted that he did not know about the residents in the boarding house. However, there are four lodging places in the area with dozens of rooms. He also questioned whether the boarding house residents were asked for a copy of their identity card (KTP) upon their first entry.

"If (people) who enter this (boarding house) do they have their KTP taken away? "So far there have been no reports like that," he said.

The police brought a suspect in a murder case to the headquarters of the Cirebon Kota Regional Police in West Java on Friday (10/5/2024). In the release, the police revealed the discovery of a female body in a wardrobe at one of the boarding houses in Kedawung District on Thursday (9/5/2024).

Syafii also does not know the number of residents or how long they have been staying in the boarding house. In addition, he admitted to frequently receiving complaints from residents regarding the operation of the boarding house. This is because a number of men and women have entered the guest rooms several times.

However, Syafii could not confirm whether the men and women who stayed there were married couples or not. From the information he received, the lodging offered rental for annual, monthly, daily, and even a few-hour periods. "Some say (the stay duration) is only a few hours," he said.

On the other hand, Syafii admitted that he had difficulty communicating with the management of the place. When Kompas visited the location, there were no guards at the inn which had been standing for the last five years. Everyone can freely enter. There are only monitoring cameras (CCTV) in a number of corners of the boarding house area.

Syafii hopes that cases of murder and other criminality in his area will no longer recur. "I ask that it not happen again. I want to work together with the management. If there is anything, report it. "Don't let an incident like this happen before the RT head gets hit," he said.

The Chief of Criminal Investigation Unit of Cirebon Kota Police, Assistant Commissioner Anggi Eko Prasetyo, is still investigating the alleged online prostitution in the murder case. Based on the police investigation, the perpetrator admitted to having met the victim through a dating application on social media.

The two agreed to meet at a boarding house and go on a date for IDR 600,000. “The victim asked for payment in advance. However, the perpetrator did not agree. "Then force (sexual intercourse) was carried out by the perpetrator on the victim, (the victim) was strangled and forced to take off her clothes," said Anggi.

After that, the victim struggled and bit the perpetrator's hand. This triggered the perpetrator's emotions who then committed violence by strangling and repeatedly hitting the victim in the face. The perpetrator then put the lifeless victim in a cupboard and ran away.

Until now, according to Anggi, the police have not found any indication of other perpetrators, including the role of procurers, in the case. However, the police will continue to investigate the case.

"After collecting everything, we will carry out the reconstruction process so that the incident can be visualized," he said.
