Students Support G20 Summit through Learning from Home
School and university students in close proximity to the location of the G20 Bali Summit are attending online learning on November 12-17, 2022, to support the success of the international event.

BALI, KOMPAS — Students from schools and universities surrounding the location of the G20 Bali Summit are attending online learning from November 12 to 17, 2022. They are doing it as a means of supporting this international conference that is attended by dozens of state leaders worldwide.
Primary School 01 Kuta, Badung Regency, for example, has made the preparation for conducting online learning in accordance with the government direction. On Friday (11/11/2022), grades 1, 5 and 6 students were still actively conducting face-to-face learning at school from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. (Central Indonesian Time). Meanwhile, grades 2, 3 and 4 students had face-to-face learning from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. (Central Indonesian Time). The division of learning sessions is due to the school being renovated.
“We received a notification at the beginning of November 2022 that for the benefit of the G20 Summit, temporary learning would be carried out online from November 12 to 17, 2022. We are used to online methods. We have already done it, especially during the pandemic. So, this is not an obstacle for us, as we are ready to conduct the online schooling in accordance with the government's direction," said the principal of Primary School 01 Kuta, Desak Putu Pipit, Friday (11/11/2022).
The circular letter received by the school contains the limitation of community activities. The letter instructs the previous face-to-face learning to be temporarily replaced by online learning.
"We are very supportive of the government programs for the good of the nation, especially Bali. There is this summit at a time when we are just starting to recover from the pandemic. It signals that there is hope for the economy to revive. We are following the government's direction," Desak Putu further said.

The circular letter that rules the limitation of community activities is issued by Bali Governor Wayan Koster. Circular Letter No. 35422/Secret/2022 is about the enforcement of Community Activities Limitation in the Context of Implementing the G20 Presidency. The activities limitation applies to offices and schools in a way that workers and students have to conduct their activities online. The circular letter applies to two regions: Badung Regency and Denpasar City, from South Kuta District, Kuta to South Denpasar, which is the nearest to the location of the G20 Summit.
Not only at schools, but online learning also applies to universities.
“We received a circular about online learning on November 4, 2022, from the Directorate General of Higher Education [Dikti] region VIII. We conducted online lectures during the pandemic. We are used to it. In regard to the instruction to carry out online lectures, it’s not a problem for us. We are ready,” said Inten Pertiwi, head of the administration and academy of the Bali Design and Business Institute.
