The development of the southern region of Java has not been integrated. Equal distribution of the quality of tourist destination facilities between regions is a necessity.

The commerce of the past, as manifested in its remnants, was mostly concentrated in the northern part of Java. Along with these busy activities for centuries, ports such as Tanjung Priok in Jakarta, Tanjung Emas in Semarang and Tanjung Perak in Surabaya were born. Not to forget, the airports in these cities.
The development of economic activities in the northern part of Java cannot be separated from the strategic position of the cities which are more connected to other regions, such as the islands of Sumatra, Kalimantan and Sulawesi. Meanwhile, the cities on the south part are located quite far away so that they must be accessed by road with a relatively long travel time.
The position of cities in the southern part of Java which is difficult to reach makes the development of facilities and infrastructure less optimal. Moreover, the terrain, which is full of ups and downs as well as twists and turns, makes various projects unable to be forced to run for a while.
To be grateful, the government has made the southern region of Java one of the priorities for new economic growth. In West Java, this passion is expected to be boosted, one of which is through the Cycling de Jabar event. In this activity, the visit of 60 participating cyclists along with the support team plus the competition committee, along with the local government that also held an exhibition of local MSME products, became the trigger for the excitement of the local economy.
Traversing 319 kilometers from starting at Geopark Ciletuh, Sukabumi Regency, to finishing in Pangandaran, this bicycle tour seeks to increase visits to tourist destinations in the southern part of West Java, while exploring interesting stories behind the rise of local MSMEs.
Comparing Ciletuh as the starting location for the first stage, Ranca Buaya beach as the finishing point for the first stage and the start of the second stage and Pangandaran as the finishing location for the second stage, it can be seen that the quality of infrastructure is still imbalanced. International standard tourist destinations require perfect facilities, starting from the provision of accommodation and transportation, tourist comfort to telecommunications networks in line with tourist interest using social media.
We realize it takes time to fix it. However, fast action is needed to immediately make these tourist destinations in the southern part of West Java global. The construction of the Wiriadinata Airport in Tasikmalaya and the airport in Sukabumi are expected to be part of that acceleration. The connection, in terms of transportation, is also expected to be connected with Ponorogo-Pacitan and Lumajang-Banyuwangi segments in East Java.
The urgency of this connectivity was repeatedly conveyed by the Governor of West Java, Ridwan Kamil. "Where there is connectivity, the economy will thrive," he said. Connectivity should also be appropriate not only in transportation facilities, but also in the promotion and improvement of its facilities.
