From the footage, it can be seen that Ferdy entered the house on Jl. Saguling III in Jakarta at 03:29 p.m. About 12 minutes later, Putri's car and Magelang's entourage arrive at the house.
The Kompas team received an autopsy report on the body of Brigadier Nofriansyah Yosua Hutabarat. The report found that gunshots to the back of the head and to the chest had killed Brigadier J.
JAKARTA, KOMPAS — The Kompas Daily Investigation Team obtained the document of the first autopsy report on the body of Brig. Nofriansyah Yosua Hutabarat, also known as Brig. J. From the autopsy results, it was concluded that the two causes of Brig. J's death were gunshot wounds to the left side of the back of the head which caused damage to brain tissue and/or gunshot wounds to the right side of the chest that tore the lungs and caused severe bleeding.

The first autopsy on Brig. J's body was carried out by the Forensic Medicine Team at Bhayangkara R Said Sukanto Hospital in East Jakarta. It was learned that Brigadier J's body arrived at Bhayangkara Hospital on Friday (8/7/2022) at around 08:20 p.m. and was immediately taken to the Forensic Medicine Installation. At 10:30 p.m., an external examination of the body was carried out by two forensic doctors and a forensic technician.
From the autopsy report document, there were photographs of Brig. J before the external examination of the body was carried out. He was still wearing the same shirt as seen in the CCTV footage at the private home of the former head of the National Police Professional and Security (Propam) Division, Insp. Gen. Ferdy Sambo, on Jl. Saguling III in Pertambangan Complex, Duren Tiga, South Jakarta. However, in the photos, the front of Brig. J's shirt, which was white, has turned red due to blood.
Piercing the skull
After the body was cleaned, it was clear that there were gunshot wounds on several parts of Brig. J's body. During the external examination, the doctor also took a swab of the penis and anus. No semen was found. This was taken as proof there was no ejaculation.
After the external examination was completed, at 11:40 p.m. the autopsy began on Brig. J's body. From the autopsy, it was found that there were seven gunshot wounds. Two gunshot wounds were concluded as the cause of death, namely to the back of the head and chest. In the head, the bullet entered from the left side of the back of the head and exited the nose. This shot penetrated the skull cavity and tore the brain tissue. Meanwhile, for the gunshot wound to the chest, it was found that the bullet entered the right side of the chest and lacked an exit wound because the bullet was lodged in the tissue under the skin on the right side of the back. This gunshot wound broke the second front right rib and tore the right lung.
Besides the two gunshot wounds that led to Brig. J's death, there were five other gunshot wounds detailed in the autopsy report. The first was a gunshot wound on the right lower eyelid, with an exit gunshot wound to the lining of the lower right eyelid.
Fourth was a gunshot wound to the back side of the left wrist, followed by an exit gunshot wound to the front side of the left wrist. This gunshot wound damaged some of the ends of the radius bone.
Second was a gunshot wound on the left lower part of the lip, accompanied by an exit gunshot wound to the right side of the neck. This gunshot wound was found on the right side of the lower jaw bone. Third was a gunshot wound on the apex of the right shoulder with an exit gunshot wound to the outer right of the upper arm. Fourth was a gunshot wound to the back side of the left wrist, followed by an exit gunshot wound to the front side of the left wrist. This gunshot wound damaged some of the ends of the radius bone.
The fifth was a gunshot wound on the inner ring finger of the left hand, with the exit gunshot wound on the outer ring finger of the left hand. This gunshot wound hit the little finger and middle finger of the left hand and broke the bones of the fingertip.
Instant death
According to the deputy secretary general of the Indonesian Association of Forensic Doctors, Baety Adhayati, a person shot in the head can die instantly if the bullet hits the brain stem or cerebellum. “In those parts, there is a center for regulating vital organs, such as the lungs and heart. Meanwhile, gunshot wounds that penetrate the lungs can cause bleeding which can lead to respiratory problems," she said.
General chair of the Indonesian Forensic Doctors Association, Ade Firmansyah Sugiharto, who led the second autopsy on Brig. J, acknowledged that he did not see the documents of the first autopsy before performing the second autopsy. However, he suspected that Brig. J's body condition at the time of the first autopsy was better than the condition at the second autopsy.
According to Ade Firmansyah, some of the wounds on Brig. J's body during the second autopsy were difficult to identify directly as gunshot wounds. This was due to the decay process and the administration of formalin and the reconstruction at the first autopsy. In the reconstruction process, the wounds were sutured and glued to prevent fluid from escaping the body.
"So, when we saw it, why did the wound look like this? Usually, if it's a gunshot wound, it's typical. The shape is a hole, then the edges have abrasions. Now, the body, which had been administered with formalin and reconstructed, was no longer like that," said Ade in Jakarta on Monday (8/8).
CCTV footage
Kompas also received CCTV footage with time stamps related to the shooting of Brig. J, starting from the journey of Putri Candrawathi, Ferdy's wife, and aides from Magelang to Jakarta and continuing with their activities in Jakarta until the ambulance carrying Brigadier J's body arrived at Bhayangkara Hospital.
The group was recorded stopping at the rest area at KM 86B of the Cipali Toll Road. Brig. J was seen heading to the toilet at 2:03 p.m. and back in the car at 2:06 p.m.
In Magelang, Putri's convoy with her aides, including Brig. J, was recorded passing on Jl. Maj. Gen. Bambang Soegeng toward Jl. Soekarno-Hatta at 09:29 a.m. The group was recorded stopping at the rest area at KM 86B of the Cipali Toll Road. Brig. J was seen heading to the toilet at 2:03 p.m. and back in the car at 2:06 p.m.
From the footage, it can be seen that Ferdy entered the house on Jl. Saguling III in Jakarta at 03:29 p.m. About 12 minutes later, Putri's car and Magelang's entourage arrive at the house. The CCTV footage shows that Putri entered the house wearing a green sweater and black leggings, followed by domestic workers and aides, including Brigadier J and Second Agent (Bharada) Richard Eliezer.
Putri was seen leaving the house at 05:05 p.m. in the same outfit. The car she was traveling in started moving at 05:07 p.m. and arrived at the Duren Tiga Police Complex at 05:09 p.m. Ferdy followed out of the house at 05:10 p.m. and entered the Police Complex area at 05:11 p.m.
However, in one of the recordings, Ferdy's escort, riding on a motorbike at an unknown time, stopped and tried to back away. Putri was seen arriving back at the private house at 05:23 p.m. Putri was already wearing a different outfit, green pajamas and green shorts. At that time it was suspected that Brig. J had died.
With regard to the CCTV footage that has been circulating, the head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Insp. Gen. Dedi Prasetyo, said the footage had been confiscated by investigators from the Jakarta Police. "For CCTV, there are several decoders that are still being analyzed by the forensics laboratory," said Dedi. (JOG/FRD/DIV/BIL/ILO/ITA /NIA)
