The implementation of micro-scale public activity restrictions (micro PPKM) for several months does not show real results.

Starting on Saturday (3/7/2021), the government will impose restrictions on emergency community activities in Java and Bali. It is expected that the rate of transmission of Covid-19 will be contained.
We are very worried about the uncontrolled condition of Covid-19, with the latest transmission cases reaching nearly 25,000 per day. Residents who communicate with each other on social media often hear news of infected relatives and friends.
Regarding the emergence of a surge in Covid-19 cases, it has been anticipated since before Idul Fitri. The government and epidemiologists reminded residents not to participate in the mudik (exodus) travel to prevent a potential spike in cases. However, even though road bans had been imposed here and there, no less than 1.5 million residents evaded police officers. The jalan tikus (illegal routes) were closed, but they looked for illegal routes.
This kind of behavior really sparks anger because it is really irresponsible. On the one hand, we understand people might be bored. However, they forget the responsibility of citizens for the bigger interests, including the emergence of a new variant of the coronavirus.
Nasi sudah menjadi bubur (It is no use crying over spilt milk). Even the government, based on economic and financing considerations, seemed hesitant to take a more stringent policy. Only after the spike occurred exponentially were emergency measures taken. The policy, which will be implemented from July 3 to July 20, is expected to reduce daily cases to below 10,000. We sincerely hope that this policy will bring results.
Sadness is beyond description to hear the sad news and to read that the number of patients who have died has soared, so that even bodies have to be lined up to be treated, because health facilities collapsed and health workers were overwhelmed. Let us obey this policy with a common vision, namely to reduce transmission cases. Office, trade and social activities as well as citizen mobility should also be able to adjust.

We also hear skeptics, but there is no other way. The implementation of micro-scale public activity restrictions (micro PPKM) for several months does not show real results. Instead of lowering cases, the opposite happens. Based on the experience of PPKM, what the community is asking for is a more assertive implementation of policies. Control needs to be made more real in all emergency PPKM areas covering 48 regencies/cities in Banten, West Java, Jakarta, Central Java, Yogyakarta, and East Java for level 4 assessments, and 74 regencies/cities, above minus Jakarta, plus Bali. In the explanation, governors, regents and mayors who do not implement this policy will be subject to administrative sanctions in the form of a written warning to temporary dismissal.
Emergency PPKM, and other mitigation policies: vaccination, we really hope to show the desired results. Since the beginning of the pandemic, we wrote, the sooner the pandemic can be contained, the sooner other matters, such as the economy and people\'s activities, will be restored. Vice versa.
