RIYADH, KOMPAS — The construction of the Museum of Prophet Muhammad and Indonesian Islamic Civilization in Jakarta will soon be realized. Currently, a cooperation agreement for the construction has been agreed upon. The Prophet Muhammad Museum will become the new icon of the city of Jakarta.
The cooperation agreement was signed by Chairman of the Prophet Muhammad History Foundation, Comr. Gen. (Ret.) Syafruddin and Deputy Executive of the Islamic World League Abdul Rahman bin Muhammad al-Mathar. The signing process was carried out in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on Saturday (24/10/2020) evening.
The historical moment was witnessed directly by former Indonesian vice president Jusuf Kalla together with the secretary-heneral of Rabithah Alam Islamiyah (Islamic World League) M. Abdul Karim al-Issa. On that occasion, Kalla also expressed his joy.

Through a written statement, Kalla hoped that the construction of this museum can be realized soon because this international museum is a hope for all Muslims in Indonesia.
"Muslims in Indonesia are looking forward to a museum that will present the history of Prophet Muhammad to increase their love for the Prophet and his faith in Allah," said Kalla who is also the chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Prophet Muhammad History Foundation and Islamic Civilization.
According to Kalla, the museum of the history of Prophet Muhammad and Islamic civilization in Indonesia will present the history of traders from the Arabian peninsula in bringing Islam to Indonesia.
Moreover, the history of the arrival of clerics from Arabia to teach Islam will also be displayed. This process then made the majority of Indonesia\'s population embrace Islam.
Kalla said the Museum of the History of Prophet Muhammad and Islamic Civilization will not only attract the attention of the Indonesian people, but also Muslims in the neighboring countries. The museum will also become a new icon for Jakarta, like the landmark buildings in big cities in the world.
The Museum of the History of Prophet Muhammad and Islamic Civilization in Indonesia will present the history of traders from the Arabian peninsula in bringing Islam to Indonesia.
After the signing ceremony, Syafruddin who is also the chairperson of the Committee for the Construction of the Museum of Prophet Muhammad and Islamic Civilization, said the signing of this cooperation agreement document was a great opportunity for the Indonesian people, especially Muslims in Indonesia and neighboring countries.
"The existence of the museum, which will be first built outside the territory of Saudi Arabia, has been waited for," he said.
Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan also attended the event, which was full of intimacy and warmth, through a teleconference. The meeting, which took place for about 50 minutes, also ended with a gala dinner.

The Prophet Muhammad Museum will display all life, exemplary, family, the role of peace, and civilization that was built by the Prophet Muhammad in 3D technology, holograms, and augmented reality. Therefore, the museum can be used as a place of research for santri (Islamic boarding house students), university students, lecturers, and researchers to study the life of the Prophet Muhammad SAW.
Besides being built in Indonesia, the Museum of Prophet Muhammad History and Islamic Civilization had previously been built in Mecca and Medina. The Prophet history museum in Indonesia is scheduled to be built in North Jakarta.
The groundbreaking process was carried out on 26 February 2020. The event was attended by Jusuf Kalla, Muhammad Abdul Karim al-Isa, Religious Minister Fachrul Razi, State-Owned Enterprises Minister Erick Thohir, Agrarian and Spatial Planning Minister/Head of the National Land Agency Sofyan Djalil, and Anies Baswedan.
