Aside from strengthening relationships, the essence of Idul Adha 1441 Hijriah is also reinforcing faith and sharing with others. In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, this has become even more meaningful.
BOGOR, KOMPAS — Camaraderie through sharing during Idul Adha 1441 Hijriah has become more meaningful. This is because the Covid-19 epidemic continues in the nation. Sharing, while strengthening one\'s faith and emulating the habits of Prophet Ibrahim will bring blessings to all who observe Idul Adha.
Muhammadun, who is a member of the Bogor Presidential Palace internal security detail, was the imam and khatib (preacher) during the Idul Adha prayer attended by President Jokowi, his family and other presidential staff.
This was the Idul Adha message during prayer at the front yard of President Joko Widodo\'s official residence at Wisma Bayurini, Bogor Palace complex, West Java on Friday (30/7/2020). Muhammadun, who is also the chairperson of the Baitussalam Mosque management at Bogor Palace, delivered the Idul Adha sermon with the theme "Sharing Is the Message of the Life of Prophet Ibrahim". "Sharing/sacrificing [one’s belongings] is the meaning of the life of Prophet Ibrahim. Respecting and being devoted to our parents is one of the messages and teachings of Prophet Ibrahim."
Continuing to establish companionship and solidarity through sacrificing (one’s belonging) on Idul Adha is also recommended. "By sacrificing and giving alms, we share sacrificial meat with the needy, relatives, neighbors and friends so that we can connect with friends because companionship will increase the number of relatives, increase sustenance and extend the life of blessings," Muhammadun said.
Moreover, Idul Adha 1441 Hijriah fell in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic. Vice President Ma\'ruf Amin also previously advised that people emulate Prophet Ibrahim by giving charity and sharing with others.
